IoTMATE LoRaWAN Solutions
LoRaWAN: Connecting the world’s IoT with long-range, low-power precision.
LoRaWAN
LoRaWAN (Long Range Wide Area Network) is a low-power, wide-area network protocol designed for connecting battery-operated IoT devices over long distances. It provides extensive range and scalability while optimizing energy use, making it ideal for applications like smart cities, agriculture, and industrial monitoring. By operating in unlicensed sub-GHz frequencies, LoRaWAN delivers cost-effective, secure, and reliable connectivity for a vast number of devices.
LoRaWAN technology consists of a low-power, wide-area network protocol built onto LoRa modulation useful for securing dependable bi-directional IoT communications. The LoRaWAN protocol provides end-to-end encryption to deliver advanced security features at scale. With LoRaWAN ranges reaching up to ten miles, this technology supplies a more economical choice compared to cellular technologies in remote areas.
LoRaWAN Architecture
End Devices
IoT devices that collect data and transmit it over the network using LoRa technology. End devices communicate wirelessly with gateways using LoRa modulation for long-range communication.
Gateways
Gateways act as bridges between end devices and the network server. They receive data from multiple end devices and forward it to the network server. Gateways send the data to the network server over a backhaul connection (e.g., Ethernet, cellular).
Network Server
The network server manages network traffic, handling message routing, deduplication, and ensuring secure communication. The network server manages device activation, security, MAC layer operations, and optimizes network capacity.
Application Server
The application server processes the data received from the network server, making it available to applications or end users. IoT data is analyzed, stored, or triggers certain actions based on the received information.
LoRaWAN: Connecting the Unconnected with Long-Range, Low-Power IoT Solutions.
